Summary:
The Redshank is a long legged wading bird. The back and wings are brown with black streaking and white flecks. The underparts are paler, and the rump and rear of the wings are pure white. The long straight bill and legs are an orange red colour.
Ecology:
The Redshank is primarily a shore and estuarine wading bird, but can be found inland in wetland areas. It feeds on invertebrates including shellfish.
